Papercut. Birdsong from Within the Egg Series
This series of papercuts is inspired by the poem The Birdsong from Inside the Egg by the Persian poet Rumi.
I use imagery of birds, feathers, nests and eggs. These papercuts explore that space where new possibilities are nurtured and there is potential for awareness and belonging.
Paper is used to suggest the temporary, fragile nature of this process. The dominant colour Red is used for its warmth and life affirming quality.
